Kejriwal requested Center to cancel CBSE exam

New Delhi| Amid a steady rise in the number of fresh Covid-19 cases in the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday urged the Center to cancel the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations. Addressing a press conference, he said, “There will be around six lakh students and about one lakh teachers, who will come to the examination centers and with that these centers can turn into new Covid-19 hotspots. This fourth wave of epidemic in Delhi is very serious and it is impacting the youth and children as well. I will request the center to cancel the CBSE examination. ”

“We have seen that many countries have canceled the examinations in the last few days,” he said.

Kejriwal also said that the situation of Covid-19 is currently critical in the capital, as more than 10,000 cases are being registered in a single day for the last few days, so more dedicated beds will be needed in the coming days.

“The Delhi government will convert schools into care centers in Covid to increase the number of beds,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also said that due to the increase in Covid-19 cases in the city, Delhi government hospitals have been asked to perform only emergency surgeries. In addition, it has been instructed to cancel the previously planned surgery for the next two to three months.
