New Delhi: On 14.10.2023, a PCR call regarding looting of E-Rickshaw bearing registration number DL-10-RE-201X and a mobile phone, after drugging the driver/victim by unknown persons was received in PS Wazirabad. On this, a case vide FIR No. 974/23 u/s 328/379/34 IPC was registered in PS Wazirabad on the complaint of Sh. Shubham Yadav, r/o Village Jagatpur, Delhi, age 20 years and the investigation has been conducted.
TEAM, INVESTIGATION & OPERATION:
Immediately, a dedicated police team comprising ASI Mukesh, ASI Dharmender, ASI Chhote Lal, HC Jai Bhagwan and Ct Anil was constituted to work on the case and nab the culprits with recovery of case property, under the close supervision of Inspr. Virender Kumar, SHO/PS Wazirabad and guidance of Ms. Alka Azad, ACP/Sub-Division, Timarpur, Delhi.
The team checked the CCTVs at the place of incident as well as route taken by accused and also developed information about accused persons. In this continuation, one of the accused was identified as Vijay @ Chacha R/o Pooja Colony, Loni, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. It was came to know that the above said person was also involved in case FIR No. 686/21, u/s 328/379/34 IPC, PS Wazirabad, Delhi and has been declared as Proclaimed Offender in the same case.
On 17.10.2023, a secret information was developed that the above said accused person was roaming in the area of Wazirabad, in the search of next prey. On this, a trap was laid by the dedicated team in the Wazirabad area and the accused person was apprehended from near Sangam Vihar, Wazirabad, Delhi. The apprehended accused person was identified as Vijay @ Chacha, age 45 years.
During the course of interrogation, the accused person Vijay @ Chacha, age 45 years, confessed about to his role in committing loot of the E-Rickshaw and mobile phone from the victim on 14.10.2023. Further, the accused person disclosed the names of his associates namely Vikas and Saleem who have taken the mobile phone, make Vivo of the victim after drugging him.
On sustained interrogation, the accused Vijay @ Chacha also admitted the commission of crime of similar nature, in case FIR No. 686/21 u/s 328/379/34 IPC and E-FIR No. 028806/21 dated 10.10.2021 u/s 379 IPC, both registered in PS Wazirabad, Delhi. Further it revealed that he was declared as Proclaimed Offender by the Hon’ble Court, in case FIR No. 686/21, PS Wazirabad, Delhi and he was evading his arrest from court proceedings in this case.
Subsequently, raids were conducted at the possible hideouts of the co-accused namely Vikas and Saleem, but they both were found absconding.
The accused Vijay @ Chacha was produced before Hon’ble Court and his TIP was fixed for 28.10.2023. He was correctly identified by the complainants in TIP proceedings. On 01.11.2023, he was taken on one day PC to recover the case property and arrest his other associates involved in above said case. Consequently, during PC remand, one E-Rickshaw bearing registration number DL-10-RE-201X, which was looted by them on 14.10.2023 has been recovered from the area of Dayalpur, Delhi at the instance of accused person.
On sustained interrogation, it further revealed that the accused is a habitual criminal with a history of involvement in 05 criminal cases under the heads of Thefts registered in different police stations in Delhi. He is school dropout and also an alcoholic. He indulged in criminal activities for living a lavish live and to finance his desires for alcohol as well as for fun and frolic with the association of other bad elements.

Vijay @ Chacha R/o Pooja Colony, Loni Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, age 45 years. (Previously found involved in 05 criminal cases of Thefts registered in Police Stations, Gokulpuri, Wazirabad and Patparganj Industrial Area, Delhi).
