The All India Minority Front (AIMF) on Wednesday extended its support to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal and Congress-led UDF in Assam in the fight against the “communal and divisive” politics of the BJP.
Hailing the TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee as the “real Bengal tigress”, the AIMF chief Dr SM Asif, which had earlier said that it would join the electoral battle in both states with secular parties, vowed to “stand in solidarity” with the TMC and UDF camps.
Dr Asif in a statement made the announcement and said that the decision was taken following discussions with party leaders in these states.
“Money, Muscle, Media and forces- are being used against Mamata Didi. Hence, AIMF has decided to stand in solidarity with her where the party candidates were not fielded. We wish Mamata Didi and Congress a roaring success,” he added.
The AIMF chief also criticized BJP double standards on NRC and CAA and said voters of the both states will give it a befitting reply in the ongoing assembly elections.
