The US has for the first time responded to the violent clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galvan Valley on Monday night.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has expressed condolences to India by tweeting.

Mike Pompeo said, “We express our deepest condolences to the people of India for the deaths caused by the recent conflict with China. We will remember the families of these soldiers, their souls and communities. At a time when Are mourning”.
However, amidst an atmosphere of tension between India and China, the US is also trying to melt the frozen ice in its relations with China.
On Wednesday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held a seven-hour meeting with China’s top diplomat Yang Jiechi in Hawaii. The two met at dinner and talked for seven hours.
