Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma has now started going to his office by bicycle to promote the campaign for a clean environment. On Wednesday, he went to the power sub-centers in Bangla Bazar and Ashiana areas to inspect. The revenue department has received Rs 1,302 crore from the joint campaign launched by the Energy Department and its vigilance wing in the last one month.
Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma called on consumers and took feedback on how to improve the electricity system. The minister asked consumers to file a complaint on helpline number 1912 for power-related problems. He appealed to the people to also pay their pending dues.
Many consumers submitted their bills on the spot and were also given instant receipts from mobile vans. The minister, who came for inspection, said, “Power cut is not an option. We have arranged that large defaulting consumers can deposit the outstanding amount with their current bill in 4 installments.”
He said that if consumers submit bills on time, it will also reduce the loss of the electricity department.
