Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen thought she had finally got her wedding date, but now she has to postpone it for the third time due to the EU summit. Many wedding plans have been postponed due to the COVID-19 epidemic and it does not appear that the world leaders are immune to this.
Mette Frederiksen wrote in a Facebook post with a photo of boyfriend fiance Bo- “I’m really looking forward to marrying this fabulous man.” But, obviously this could not be so easy, and now there is a council meeting in Brussels. It has been called on that Saturday in July, when we planned to get married. But I have to do my job and take care of Denmark’s interests. So we have to change plans again.
Mette Frederiksen said that soon we should be able to get married. I am waiting for Bo to say yes to the wedding, we are fortunately very patient. Let us state that an extraordinary European Council meeting has been called on 17–18 July, which will be held in Brussels in the presence of 27 heads of member countries. The decision was made at a virtual meeting held last week.
This will be the first summit where leaders will actually be present since the corona virus lockdown began months ago. During the meeting, leaders are set to discuss the COVID-19 crisis recovery plan and the new EU budget.
